I think I am ready for testing, but I am not sure. What should I do? Simply ask Sifu Jason. There is no shame in asking about testing. If you aren’t ready, Sifu Jason will help you coordinate a schedule so you will know when you will be ready to test.
I recently hurt my ____ on the job, but I don’t want to stop training. What should I do? Let Sifu Jason know of any injuries you have, whether acquired in class or on the job. He’ll work with you to make sure you can continue training as best you are able. If you do need significant time off, Sifu Jason will prorate you any dues paid, and add it on to your time paid when you come back.
I was really hoping to work on a specific technique this week. How do I let Sifu Jason know? Email him or talk to him before class, and as long as your request is in line with the week’s curriculum, it should be accommodated.
Do I have to buy my gear from Goldsmith Kung Fu, or can I go other places? There is no requirement to buy your equipment from Goldsmith Kung Fu, but it is often cheaper than purchasing at retail price. The only items you must buy from Goldsmith Kung Fu are WHKD-exclusive items, such as the Redbook and uniform t-shirt.
I want to increase my level of contact during sparring, how do I go about this? To increase your contact level during sparring, talk to Sifu Jason. He will spar you at the contact level you desire, and if you are comfortable with that, then you will be allowed to spar other people at that contact level who have gone through the same process. |
