Each week a different area of the art is explored in depth during class at Goldsmith Kung Fu. The current curriculum rotation consists of:

  • Hand strikes
  • Stances/blocks
  • Leg strikes
  • Stand-up grapping/clinch work/Judo
  • Ground Fighting/Jujitsu
  • Eskrima (stick & knife fighting and defense)
  • Close-in fighting/dirty boxing
  • Forms

The rotation takes 2 months on average, and belt tests are held every 4 months, so that students typically get at least 2 full cycles of the curriculum between belt tests. Additionally, this schedule allows new students to join up at any time, without feeling left behind, as each week something new is presented.

Each class at Goldsmith Kung Fu is 90 minutes long, and is broken in to three sections of approximately equal length. The first third of the class is spent on warm-ups and basic exercises related to the theme at hand. The second part of class focuses on the Wun Hop Kuen Do content specifically required for each belt. The final third of each class is spent on sparring and related drills.
